Hello, can you give me some explanation about my son’s condition. He has been diagnosed with an ankle luxation, but was released after a short time. He has to lay down as much as possible and not to move his leg. I wish to know – does a luxation include a fractured ankle?

No, it does not, but it is a serious injury in its own way. Actually, two joint surfaces in luxation are displaced and that causes pain and discomfort. Once put back in proper location, stillness and rest are needed for a complete recovery. So I guess he will be fine in a while, he just have to be a bit patient and that’s all.
