I used to drink a lot of diet mt. dews a day. 8 or 9 at least. I decided that was too much and have weaned myself down to 1 caffinated dew a day. Since I've weaned I've gained 5lbs. I exercise at least the same amount if not a little more. Could it be possible the caffeine had something to do with this?

I suppose it's possible. Most diet pills have a high dose of caffeine which revs up the metabolism, so taking away a big dose of caffeine seems reasonable the opposite would happen.

Diet Mt Dew rocks my face off!

I can't drink more than two a day or I have trouble sleeping.
I try to limit myself to one, but Diet Mt Dew rocks my face off!

As far as the weight gain

It could be a combination of the decrease in the amount of caffeine ingested and (possibly) an increase in other calories ingested. Since you're not downing the Dew quite so much (and kudos for that!) are you substituting with something else?
