My father now is 58 years old and he has alcohol addiction for more than 30 years with more than 2 bottles of wine per day.
He had high blood pressure and started medication around 8 years ago and had BSP symptom 3 years ago.
Our family all suggest him to quit drinking because its not good for his blood pressure and causing his bad sleep at night and make his BSP worse.
So can any doctors give me some idea about the relationship of alcohol and blepharospasm?
I really appreciate anyone's suggestion and ideas here.

It's thought that the stress is one of the main triggers for BSP symptom, but also caffeine and alcohol do contribute to the worsening of the problem. Not to mention all the damage alcohol does to the rest of his body and organs, especially when you consider that he also has a high blood pressure. But, when you look at it from the other perspective - he is used to live like this and it would be a major disruption and stress to have to change his lifestyle all of the sudden. So, this is something you need to discuss with his family doctor about best way to limit the use of alcohol without causing more stress.
