As some of you know, I have a Dalmation (used to be my avatar). She runs with me quite consistantly during my weekday runs (about 3 miles or so). On Tuesday we ran when it was about 30 degrees out. She seemed to do fine but when she got inside about 1/2 hour later she was shivering really badly. I covered her with a blanket and sat with her, the shivering slowly stopped. It was 40 for the run today but in the morning instead of the evening, she seemed fine. I didn't see her shaking but this time about 10 minutes after being inside I covered her with a blanket. Does anyone have any ideas? Does she need to be layered like I am, like I buy her a wicking shirt or something or should I take her to the vets and get checked out? She's a mostly inside dog, so she doesn't really have a thick winter coat or anything.... Any ideas?
