Why are you taking 8 vicodins during the day? Have you been prescribed such a big dose? I hope that you are not taking this on your own. Vicodin can be pretty dangerous, and it can cause addition as well so you must be really careful with it.
When it comes to losing weight this is absolutely normal with such big dose of vicodin. In my opinion you need to talk with your doctor as soon as possible and if you continue to lose weight you will probably have to eat supplements for gaining weight. Or maybe your doctor will decide to switch you to some other medication which is not going to influence you in this way.

8 Vics a day! wow, I have back trouble and I currently take about 1-2 a day. It has curbed my appetite and I've lost weight. Unexpected positive side effect. If I was taking 8 a day, I probably wouldn't even be able to chew food. lol
