I'm 16 years old and have had my period for about 2-3 years. Ever since about my second period I have used tampons, but I have always had to have a back-up pad because no matter what I did, it leaked. It didn't matter what position I sat in when putting it in, how far a put it in, what absorbency I used, anything... and if I used a pad alone, I was always scared of leaks because I'm paranoid like that. It's not that my period is extremely heavy either. When I took the tampon out.. it always still had white showing. So, recently I decided to try the "Diva cup"... this seemed to be the solution for women everywhere with my problem. So I got it, and tried it.... and of course, it also leaks. There is blood in the cup, but it's not anywhere near full, and it leaks almost immediately. It doesn't leak as bad as a tampon, but this is ridiculous. I dont know what to do, but this problem makes my life hard during that time of the month, especially during summers. If you have any idea why this happens to me, or any solutions, I would REALLY appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

I had that same problem when i was younger and i did not know what it was from - once i went to the gynocologist and had my first pap i found out i had a double uterus and double cervix and a split vagina, which was why tampons did not work for me - i had surgery to remove the membrane divider and now I can use tampons with no problem. I do not know if you are in the same situation but it sounds like it.
