Just had an MRMI today and towards the end I started feeling shocks, in my stomach, my muscles started twitching. Best way I can describe it is like being electrocuted by an electric fence. It then got worse as it passed through setting to setting. I shouted out
To technician about the feeling. Didn’t seem bothered and she must have seen me semi convulsing. And that is no overstatement. She said it was ok. Anyway, as much as I wanted to push the emergency button, and maybe like a stupid sheep, I kept on going. Got to the end. She again said it sometimes happens at the end but I don’t think they understand the severity that it can happen! Still feel buzzed 6 hours later. At least no one on here complaining of long term problems so rest easy
I’d say :)

I went in for a brain and cervical mri a few year's ago. The techs demanded that I cross my ankles and my hands across my stomach during the procedure.
Right in the middle of the procedure when the low tones hit, I noticed that I had a horrid pain going from both elbows, across my chest and down into my toes. I t became uncomfortable and I hit the panic plunger. They pulled me out and asked what was wrong, and I told them I got shocked hard. They laughed at me and said no way that happened as those machines were "safe". They blamed it on being claustrophobic which is a load of c**p, I'm a former firefighter who was certified in confined space rescue! LOL
The techs started the procedure back up, and a few minutes later the shock hit me again, but this time harder! I hit the plunger and the guy got mad and yelled that he had 5 minutes left and to stop being a whimp. I laud there in massive pain, and it was finally done.
I sat up on the side of the table and I started to vomit, hard. I also was severely weak feeling, I had heart palpitations and I partially blacked out twice. The jerk tech came over and yanked the garbage can away from me and stood me up. When that happened, I started seeing black spots and my heart felt like it was going to fly out of my chest. He basically walked me out to the waiting room and told the receptionist to "watch me" while he got my c**p out of his room. She asked what happened and I told her, which her eyes got big and said oopsie.
I finally got home, and started to look at my hands and feet as they were still burning like mad. I had burn marks on my big toes where they were arking and my hands were beet red like a bad sunburn. I called my primary care provider and she had me come in immediately. She ran an ekg on me to make sure my heart wasn't messed with, and noticed the burns on me. My doctor openly admitted that she never heard of anyone getting shocked before, but she was definitely going to look into it. She called me at 930 that night and was so shocked at how many people out there was getting shocked by these damn machine's! My new doctor wants me to get a scan done and has even offered sedation, but I did a hard pass on it. I absolutely refuse to get in one of those machine's again!!
