I had an mri several years ago. I felt a sharp painful ZAP into my lower right hip… I screamed it hurt so badly. The techs poo-poohed me and back in I went. Afterwards I checked and had a big red spot where i was zapped. Since then I have pain all the time in that area. Many times the pain goes all the way through to my overuse… it feels like… from my back to my front… the pain is persistent for years…. What is that? I have no metal in my body and no body parts were crossed…????

Just had an MRMI today and towards the end I started feeling shocks, in my stomach, my muscles started twitching. Best way I can describe it is like being electrocuted by an electric fence. It then got worse as it passed through setting to setting. I shouted out
To technician about the feeling. Didn’t seem bothered and she must have seen me semi convulsing. And that is no overstatement. She said it was ok. Anyway, as much as I wanted to push the emergency button, and maybe like a stupid sheep, I kept on going. Got to the end. She again said it sometimes happens at the end but I don’t think they understand the severity that it can happen! Still feel buzzed 6 hours later. At least no one on here complaining of long term problems so rest easy
I’d say :)

Unlike others on here I had two MRI scans today. Nothing was crossing. Feet apart and hands to the side. I felt all of it, and When I closed my eyes I saw all sorts of pulsing colors. So, if anyone can tell me why that is in my case that would be great. LOL

I went in for a brain and cervical mri a few year's ago. The techs demanded that I cross my ankles and my hands across my stomach during the procedure.

Right in the middle of the procedure when the low tones hit, I noticed that I had a horrid pain going from both elbows, across my chest and down into my toes. I t became uncomfortable and I hit the panic plunger. They pulled me out and asked what was wrong, and I told them I got shocked hard. They laughed at me and said no way that happened as those machines were "safe". They blamed it on being claustrophobic which is a load of c**p, I'm a former firefighter who was certified in confined space rescue! LOL

The techs started the procedure back up, and a few minutes later the shock hit me again, but this time harder! I hit the plunger and the guy got mad and yelled that he had 5 minutes left and to stop being a whimp. I laud there in massive pain, and it was finally done.

I sat up on the side of the table and I started to vomit, hard. I also was severely weak feeling, I had heart palpitations and I partially blacked out twice. The jerk tech came over and yanked the garbage can away from me and stood me up. When that happened, I started seeing black spots and my heart felt like it was going to fly out of my chest. He basically walked me out to the waiting room and told the receptionist to "watch me" while he got my c**p out of his room. She asked what happened and I told her, which her eyes got big and said oopsie.

I finally got home, and started to look at my hands and feet as they were still burning like mad. I had burn marks on my big toes where they were arking and my hands were beet red like a bad sunburn. I called my primary care provider and she had me come in immediately. She ran an ekg on me to make sure my heart wasn't messed with, and noticed the burns on me. My doctor openly admitted that she never heard of anyone getting shocked before, but she was definitely going to look into it. She called me at 930 that night and was so shocked at how many people out there was getting shocked by these damn machine's! My new doctor wants me to get a scan done and has even offered sedation, but I did a hard pass on it. I absolutely refuse to get in one of those machine's again!!

I have had several MRI no problem even on my lower back last year no problem but Friday I had one on my Neck and middle way through I was getting shock on my stomach with was during the deep sound of the section , nothing was crossed on my body when I got out of the machine I told the girls they said no one has every had that problem before and I said it was shock me to the beat of the sound. So when I went to get dressed I have a bruise exactly where it was shocking me at and it is in little pin point dots and the size of a fifty cent peace. They called the supervisor around and he said in his 25 yrs he has never seen anything like it

I too just had a cervical mri today and this exact same thing happened! It felt like a ghost literally was petting my head playing with my hair! Whenever I got out I kept looking down at the other end of the machine. I also had a tingly left hand and no body part was ever crossed. The nurse didn’t care, said her next patient was there and just pushed me out.

Wow. Glad I found thread. I had brain & Cervical MRIs today. In the first position on my neck at one specific sound frequency, I had electrical pulses in my thumbs that timed exactly with the sound pulses. It wasn't painful, just interesting. I asked the tech afterwards & he said "no, that's impossible. It doesn't do that. It's probably just how you were holding your hands." I quickly realized talking to a brick wall would be more effective, so I just left. I have 4 more MRIs scheduled this week, so I'm glad to read every one else's posts. My thumbs & fingers were interlaced on my ribcage. They won't be again.

I get breast MRI’s annually and every time I get electric shock in my low back. So much so it lifts me off the table then continues to pulse shock me throughout the entire session! It is so odd I started thinking I may have some unknown metal in there! That’s interesting about the 1.5 vs 3.0 worth a look. Curious if that helped? First time it gave me anxiety thinking something was wrong then after that I just try to prepare myself for it each time. Thankfully it’s only annually now!!

I got zapped in an MRI. It hurts so much. I screamed. The technicians didn’t really seem to care. I have been an extreme pain from that zap. I can feel exactly where it went and how it went through my body and where it went out. I am in pain all the time and no one believes me. And it was from an MRI.

On August 1st 2024 I was also inside of an MRI machine to have my low back scanned to make sure that my Hardware was all right and while I was in there my arms and my legs they were not crossed my arms were to my side I had the button thing in my right hand and as I lay there as soon as I was in the machine and it was on not much after that I felt the first shock on the left side of my back and then not much after that I counted four to five more shocks to the same side it was horrible feeling it frightened me I was crying I lost feeling from my thigh down on the left leg the two texts did not report this of my injuries did not call for help and didn't do anything all they put was patients with claustrophobic and that's why they couldn't do the MRI and I complained of leg pain that was a lie I was hurt inside the machine nobody ever heard of it either I end up going to the hospital and they admitted me for 5 days not looking at my back not doing anything like that and no amount of pain medication could stop the pain that I was feeling so bad it was horrible but when I got home I told my daughter to take some pictures of my back because it felt like a bruise it was really bad and my daughter did and my back was still swollen and I had these little bruises as well on my low back and it spread through my whole back I was wondering if you ever talk to anybody about what happened to you in that machine and do you also have any long-term effects or anything because my leg is still numb I have pain going through my back only where I was hit with the machine at and lately it's been going through the one side of my left back all the way underneath across my low back is very painful here is my email please let me know
