Did you find any answers ?? I have this excessive vaginal discharge all the time -it is clear & stringy--- Have had it for over 2 years now. I am 42, eat right & exercise & @ my ideal weight --- I have been to the Dr. many times about this. I have been tested for all STD's -- I am clear of any infections - @ first they kept saying it was all normal. Bullcrap -- This isnt normal. I can actually feel it coming out of me. I also have to wear a pad all of the time. I have finally found a Dr that is looking into it, she has also tested me for infection & I am still clear. She also tested my hormones - all are good -- she is now going to check my uterus for fibroids/polyps. Just waiting for her call back -- I am so tired of this, I cant live this way anymore. Thank God my husband tries to understand all of this. He is a wonderful man!-- I will keep you posted. I am glad I found this forum - was begining to feel like was the only one with this problem that they call normal --
I happened to stumble over this site and when I read your posting I identified with it 100%. I am 19 and have the same symptoms as you describe. I haven’t been to any doctors yet, I thought that it was normal or something...although I find it very irritating and uncomfortable. Do you have any new information about these problems? Does anyone? Should I also go and see a doctor?
im 18 and have the exact same prob. im freakin out.. its disgusting and i know it cant b normal

As I mentioned before, I have seen my OB/GYN about it. We did the LEEP procedure adn on the follow up appointment, I was told that it didn't do much about my Ectropian and there is nothing else to try. She emphasized that I am normal, and some women just create more discharge than others.
One thing she has mentioned is that panty liners are actually not good for you. Unlike a normal pad, they don't actually draw the moisture away, and if you create enough discharge you are only going to cause diaper rashes that can lead to yeast infections.
Well at the time of my follow up, I was thinking about sewing liners into my underpants.
The good news, over the last 2 or 3 weeks, my discharge has lightened up significantly. It is still fairly heavy, nbut I don't need to wear liners (or ignore my Dr and use tampons).
Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel.
But if you can't fix it, sometimes you have to embrace it.
For the last commenter who said she felt embarrassed.
I started a relationship in the last year with this issue. I was embarrassed about it too, especially when he insisted in going down on me, but you know what, he didn't mind it a bit.
I think if nothing else it turned him on more.
Be brave, and be proud, even if it is difficult. There is a good side to everything, sometimes you just have to look at it in another light.

Glad to hear that other women seem to have the same problem as me. I'm 43 years old, and the amount of discharge has been increasing for the last 4 years or so. I have to wear tampons all the time from my period until the ovulation. The discharge is totally liquid, light yellow, not mucuous at all, no itching and no smell. Sometimes there are a few drops of blood. Contrary to the other testemonies, I don't have any discharge between the ovulation and the next period. I also asked my gynecologist and she also said that I'm perfectly healthy and that everything is fine. Which is hard to believe. However, after reading this site and seeing how many women have this problem and how many gynecologists agree that it is normal, I start thinking that maybe we should just believe them! Our body is a mysterious place and it keeps changing over the years, so things can appear and disappear. Looks like this heavy discharge is indeed normal, just not very common...

In the beginning of last year I was put on birth control due to a series of extremely painful periods to the point in which I was hospitalized. They ran tests and scans and at first were questioning my virginity and tried to diagnose it as a miscarriage. Which obviously was not the case. They came up with a UTI/ Intestinal infection+ my normal cycle. The birthcontrol did nothing and simply made me a psycho. The painful period only came back one other time and is now gone.
But here I am, still a virgin, not painful any more than normal periods, healthy diet, loosing weight, and this gross excessive discharge. If anyone on here ever finds out any kind of name for what this problem is or a way to fix it, PLEASE let me know. Thank you for all the help and posts onto this forum! :-)
