I need some help. It is Sunday and I can't go to the doctor, except that my husband thinks that I am overreacting. But I am sure that my child has fever. She's rectal temperature is 38, 5°C. She is just a 10 months old. This is my first baby and she didn't have fever until now so I don't know what to do.

High temperature means that your child has some form of an infection and body is fighting to prevail it. It can be caused by ear infection, fly, some respiratory illness, severe colds and sore throat. Try with acetaminophen every four hours. This should help. But if the child has diarrhea, if she is vomiting or has rashes or seizures, and if temperature remains high in the next 24 hours then you must visit the doctor.
