MY HUSBAND HAD A RECURRENCE OF COLORECTAL CANCER LAST JUNE, HAD A PROBLEM WITH SEPSIS REQUIRING A TEMPORARY COLOSTOMY. HE HAD THE COLOSTOMY REVERSED ABOUT 5 WEEKS AGO AND IS EXPERIENCING ALMOST A CONSTANT URGE TO HAVE A BOWEL MOVEMENT.
IS THIS NORMAL.

It has been 9 months since my reversal surgery and I am still having similar problems.  I have been told to drink pleanty of water, exercise and have natural fiber in your diet.  I eat small meals, stay away from beef and do not eat after 6:00 p.m.  I find that if I eat gasy food, I have the constant  urge to have a bowel movement.  Stay positive....we are still here and hopefully it will get better.
