I have been using the pill for about a year and recently stopped because my husband and I would like to have a baby. Any suggestions or advice?

I've been on the patch for about 5 years and got off of it after my last period on April 24th and have been trying to conceive with my fiance. Still nothing yet!
Also, I read that it is best to wait until you have had one "real" period after the pill and that no matter how long you have been on the pill, it can take awhile before you able to get pregnant. It can range from almost right away to upto a year I read and that if you have not had a period for 6 months or longer, it is adviced that you go see a doctor. Everyone is different.
