My 15 year old granddaughter who is vegitarian and eats very little else has been experiencing hair loss for sever al months now. Her hair is very dry too. She also has trouble with being cold a lot. Her diet mainly consists of broccoli, green beans, cauliflower, and a variety of fruits. Once in a while she will eat muffins that I have made (usually very low fat and splenda for sugar-because of health concerns of myself and husband) Nothing else. Period. I can not convince her that she needs to eat more of a variety of foods eventhough she wishes not to eat meat. She thinks what she is doing is OK. It is for weight loss more than anything.
