My fibromyalgia ruins my life - literally. The feeling of fatigue and stiffness, occasional memory gaps and headaches are constant. They make me feel miserable, not good enough to do my job and I sometimes stay in bed two or three days - I just use the toilet and eat the sandwiches. My doctors prescribed certain antidepressant, but it caused vomiting and diarrhoea, so he switched it with another. I’ve been using it for three weeks and I’ve noticed that I’m losing my hair. Is there anyone in the whole wide world who experiences the same thing? Is my hair loss caused by this new antidepressant or is it associated with my miserable condition and stress I experience because I have fibromyalgia? Help!

You are by no means alone with this problem in this whole wide world. I’ve been going through the same thing for about six months (I mean the additional hair problems, not my fibro - my fibro is still there, no matter what I do). It all began with my suicidal thoughts - I was so sad and miserable because I was literally deprived of the right to have a normal life. I was all tired and swollen of constant lying. No pain killer was strong enough to enable me normal participation in everyday activities. I lost my job and that was the final drop. I started thinking about suicide and talked to my doctor about it. He directed me to a psychiatrist and he suggested an extra - strong antidepressant. Perhaps it was the stress caused by the fact that I became a psychiatric case, and perhaps it was just the side effect of this medicine - after one week I started losing my hair. It was so obvious, so noticeable, my hairs were all over the apartment. When I talked to my doctor again he claimed that I was too nervous about taking antidepressants (?) and suggested that I continue with the therapy. Other side effects of the medicine were also vomiting, tingling sensations and headaches, but to be honest, it worked. I became more positive and willing to accept life and fight fibro. My psychiatrist was satisfied and after six months I was off the medicine. Two weeks from that moment my hair problems started improving rapidly. It was caused by the medicine, but it stopped. Perhaps this will help you. Talk to someone about it - hair loss is not something you should ignore. My hair returned to its normal condition, but if you wait too long perhaps yours won’t.

Hello, You will be surprised how many people around the world are fellow suffers. Did you know that one third of the population of Japan suffer from Chronic Fatigue...Japan leads the world in research for this horrible disease.
Fibro,CFS,CFIDS, ME, lupus...they all are similar. They all leave you feeling like c**p most of the time. Most can be related to a virus you got that looked and appeared like the flu. Swollen glands, high temps, body aches etc. Then weeks of feeling exhausted. Then feeling good for awhile, then a relapse back into exhaustion,.....for the rest of your life.!! Good times, c**p times...sound familiar?
Too much on going stress is a tigger, getting another virus or illness, divorce, money problems, anxiety and worry, medictions, toxins...external and internal, not sleeping...the list goes on and on. These are all triggers.
Ok so what can we do to make our lives better?
Manesium, vit c,MSM, L Lysine, potassium, malic acid, glucosamine, vit b6,vit b12, folic acid. And herbs to help support the immune system. These all work in there own way to make our lives a bit more bareable.
Go to your local health store and talk to someone who has natural healing knowledge.
Good luck
