i have to say that when i discovered these bumps on both sides of my vaginal lips I almost passed out. Of course my first thought was genital warts because they seemed to be clustered in the described cauliflower pattern. so I started an organic approach. Vitamins and a topical treatment ot apple cider vinegar. I soaked a facial pad in the apple cider vinegar and after my warm shower i applied it to the bumps for two hours for a week. It maks them tender but it briught everything to a head and to my surprise i was able to squeeze lightly and remove large amounts of white matter from the bumps quite easily without pain. then i cleansed the area with soap and water and sprayed with peroxide and dressed with antibiotic ointment. I went to the doctor and he confirmed that it was not gw but sebacious blockage from wearing maxi pads he believes. I am so relieved and I hope this helps

Do you mean labial cyst (aka Bartholin's Cyst)? Ovarian cysts are in your ovaries. I looked at pics of labial cysts and they look like what I've experienced twice, both times prior to menstruation starting.

I found something very similar on my labia minora, on the upper right side, last night. It was very tender and I it appeared almost like a large rounded reddish white head. I immediately panicked for fear that it was genital wart or HSV. I showed a picture to someone I know who has HSV and they did not think that is what it was.

I soaked in hot water for about 45 minutes and then placed a steaming hot towel to it about 4-5 times before going to bed. I tried to apply just a small amount of pressure to it, to see if it would burst... Nothing. Nothing but pain! This morning, I made an appointment with my OBGYN, but she is not available until tomorrow morning. Grrrr! :-( I went on a quick 40 minute run, came back home and applied a hot towel to it 2-3 times. By this point, I could see that it had come to a head. So, again, I applied a small amount of pressure to it and it ozzed out the white puss liquid. It did not hurt and I did not have to apply much pressure at all. I did this twice while softly cleaning it with a hot towel between each time.

The area is now red and a little raised. Not nearly as big or painful, but still noticeably raised and it feels like there is still something hard under the skin. I am somewhat relieved because to my knowledge, this is not how HSV or genital warts present or react to warm water, being popped, etc. I'll see for sure what is going on tomorrow morning, but for now I have a little relief both physically and mentally.

Has anyone else still hard a little hardness in the area immediately after popping?

I have the same thing, a bump or cyst near my clitoris. Been there for about a week now. I've been soaking it but nothing helps. It's kind of painful and sometimes itches. I don't know what else to do. I got it a couple days after having sex.

I know this forum is old but I just had this happen to me. I developed a pearl sized bump on the left side of my labia minora. It hurt to touch and when it rubbed against anything. I went to my gyno and he said it was an ingrown hair/pimple (even though hair doesn't grow there. He popped it and told me to keep it clean and avoid pools/hot tubs etc for a week. Says if it happened again to try and squeeze it to break it up.

Hi. I have the same thing you've described. It is a small pea sized lump on my left inner labia near the clit, painful to touch. This is the 3rd time it's happened and it's lasted longer than the last 2 occurrences. The 1st time was when I was a teen and not sexually active. The 2nd time was a couple years ago. I don't know what could have caused it.

Did you ever find a resolution?

Hello Ladie,
I've had the same problem for years. I have several of them on the labia majors and the labia minora. My OB/GYN did tell me they were ingrown hairs. I was skeptical. I asked for a biopsy. She agreed and sure enough, that is exactly was it was. Mine have never gone away. I will tell you that they did start when my symptoms for Lupus started. I have the systemic type which can affect all organs. The skin had hair, even in places you may not realize. Remember, hair on the body is used for protection. I do hope you all find this helpful. I do know if the growths are infected or painful, insurance may cover the cost to remove them. Other than that it is a cosmetic procedure and we all know again, we have to open our wallets. I'm sure the new guy might think it is an STD. Removing them does not mean they won't grow back nor grow anywhere else in the area. Good luck on your choices. Remember, you did nothing wrong but looser clothing in the area may help.

Actually, it's not a Bartholin Cyst. The Bartholin gland is farther down, near the Perineum. What everyone is describing is a sebaceous cyst. Very common during ovulation and disappears with menstruation. Everyone, PLEASE STOP POPPING WITH A NEEDLE! You'll only cause infection. Just leave it alone. If it's painful, take a warm sitz bath, warm compress and Ibuprofen. I'm and OBGYN nurse.

I had this happen to me as well. It was one large lump about the size of a small marble and shaped like bean near my vaginal canal. Like everyone else, I panicked. Luckily, my best friends are nurses and after consulting with them, I was told NOT to do sitz baths because of the bacteria in the tub. Instead, use a hot compress (as hot as you can stand) using a clean washcloth and apply directly to the lump 4 times a day. Afterward, I followed up by rubbing slightly diluted tea tree oil (cut it with castor oil) directly on the lump. It burned slightly, but the antibacterial properties of tea tree oil are phenomenal. The pain kept getting worse going from a 2 on the third day to a 3.5 on the fourth day. Finally, on the fourth night, it popped. I didn't have to poke it or stab it, it just popped on its own. There was a good deal of blood and only a little yellow fluid which leads me to believe that it was a blood blister or an infected follicle that became a small cyst. Either way, so relieved that it's gone.

Yes you're right, is the sebaceous gland problem. I have been searching like hell on net & after a month of research I'm here & I'm relieved to know that I'm right about it. I was so scared to go to doc. Thank you so much for a description
