ok so here is my story, I am a 17 y/o girl and i have been having this problem a lot recently. I will lay down or sit down an get up and instantly become dizzy, then my eyes slowly turn black and i lose all hearing an just hear a high pitch ringing and i just fall on the floor and i shake. I feel like i may be having some kind of minor seizure when this happens. I'm hypoglycemic but that is all. I anyone knows what could be going on, let me know.
Thank you!

I have similar symptoms. When I stand up I get dizzy and my heart beats really hard and I have passed out a few times. I wen't to my heart doctor and he said I have a minor heart murmur. He also said my body does not retain liquids so I am constantly dehydrated and must drink at least a gallon of water a day. when you are sick, or stressed out the symptoms are even worse. I would try drinking more water and eating more salt. Hope I helped

Joe - post if you get any further diagnosis. I am about the same age, a bit lighter. Had sever stomach issues for years - a mystery to my doctor - that cleared up (I related them to a vitamin supplement I was taking). No sooner had that cleared up, I started getting short dizzy spells, white spots (in one case fainted) when I stood up in a mall, restaurant, bed, car, etc. or when I did a short stint of physical activity. Sometime seems to have a bit of a tremor - either one hand shakes or one knee seems to give out. Lots of tests and ideas, no improvement. I seemed to have just gotten used to it, but would prefer to move one.

well actually it can be life threatening and it's red blood cells. Anemia is not something to take lightly it is a serious problem with your body, there can be mild cases and life threatening cases either way you need to go see a doctor.

Hey,
I'm a 16 year old female with the exact same symptoms as you have.
1. Did you get an EKG done?
2. Have you been getting a lot of petechiae (like bruises) lately?
My doctor told me I could be anemic (which, socalmama951, can be dangerous depending on type and can cause heart failure in serious cases) or dehydrated though they both don't seem entirely likely.

Anemia is where you do not produce enough red blood cells or there are not enough red blood cells being produced

I am a female and this actually happens to me alote especially the rapid heart beats. I would recommend seeing a doctor because it may be caused by a major illness probably in the brain or heart. My heart rate usually goes up between 120-140 just when sitting down. doctor extremely recommended

Wow... make sure you know what you are talking about before you post it! Anemia has NOTHING to do with WBC's or white blood cells. Any dummy with the internet would know that. Anemia comes in all shapes and sizes and has to do with hemoglobin in your RED BLOOD CELLS. You can be vitamin B-12 deficient, iron deficient, and just have a low red blood cell count/hemoglobin count.
If it were about your White Blood Cells not producing quickly enough then he would be in danger. White blood cells are fundamental to fighting against viruses and bacteria. Thankfully, I highly doubt this young person is immunosuppressed.
to the young person: Look up something called Postural Tachycardia syndrome (POTS). It is very likely that this could be the cause of your discomfort. I have the same thing! I teach Anatomy and Physiology, so I do know a thing or two and wont spout off nonsense like a some people.

Anemia is lack of red blood cells... Not white blood cells. Anemia is curable but treatment depends on what type of anemia it is. There are several different kinds.

it's RBC's..NOT white, which WBC's assist with ridding the body and fighting against infection....Anemia is caused from lack of iron.... blood changing, due to iron deficit. ( O2)....Red Blood cells carry oxygen. ;o)

Most of the time, bicuspid aortic valve is not diagnosed in infants or children because it causes no symptoms. However, the abnormal valve can leak or become narrow.
Symptoms of such complications may include:
Baby or child tires easilyChest painDifficulty breathingRapid and irregular heartbeat (palpitations)Loss of consciousness (fainting)Pale skin
If a baby has other congenital heart problems, they may cause symptoms that will lead to the discovery of a bicuspid aortic valve.
