Yup,the feeling like your on drugs. I've had it for two years now, and I'm guessing it's from the anxiety. I've been checked out and everything is fine. Probably in our food. Thanks Monsanto!

I have this exact same issue, and have been doing on and off for a few years now.

First time this happen, I panicked cause of shortness of breath & could feel my heartbeat in my neck. Within 5-10 seconds it turned into a panic attack (I suddenly thought I was dying cause of the "skipped beat" and shortness of breath feeling) and went to the doctors, for them to say it was just stress. I was suffering with mild anxiety at the time.

Since then, although I don't suffer with the anxiety the same anymore, I get it now and again (like just now) but because I have kind of got use to it now, it is just a mild shortness of breath & I cough & it seems to sort it! I don't think it's anything to worry about as looking at what a lot of people have said & listening to a fair number of friends & family, it seems quite common and I think worrying about it is what makes it a problem... perhaps many people have this that don't even notice! One thing I notice makes this issue more prevalent is caffeine - I notice this happens often if I have drunk an extra coffee than normal, a few hours after doing so. I also notice this seems to happen more often around menstrating, and/or during times of stress (all three of which seem to go in unison sometimes!I'd definitely try to note down when it happens, see if there is a pattern, see if you notice it after caffeine etc. and then you should be able to notice if certain things are making the issue stand out more.

Any time you feel uneasy, you need to seek a doctor. There are NO rules /age limits with heart issues or disease!!! So, unless you are a medical doctor, please do not "assure" anyone anything :)

Thanks for sharing your experience; it sounds sooo much like what I'm experiencing. I'm taking charge of my health by looking up the symptoms before going to the hospital or doctor.
Like you, my medical doctor is treating me for anxiety; my cardiologist gave me a clean bill of health. It's not that I want to be sick; I just want to feel better. Regarding the anxiety, we have take FULL control of our minds by not worrying and/or over-thinking things. I want to live a happy, healthy productive life.

Hi All,
I have had the symptoms you describe Caitieh. And I have had the vaso vagal response. I went unconscious in the bathroom while going to the bathroom and ended up in face plant on the floor. NICE Huh. These events happen every now and then, and the event begins when I suddenly feel a stomach ache and need to go to the bathroom. But once there I get light headed and pass out. I've learned to just lie down flat or on my side and allow for a better flow of oxygen. It is, to say the least scary because you know what's coming, and have the desire to stop it but it is impossible. Laying on the floor just help the brain get enough oxygen. Now the feeling of having what seems is a lack of air or a wheezy feeling in the upper chest /throat and the need to cough to set things straight is somewhat a newer experience and as such has brought me here to see if anyone else has had the same thing happening to them.

This shortness of breath started after I had alot of stress taking care of a friend, bad personal relationship, and my best friend dying, also a torn rotator cuff injury which makes it impossible to work. Not to mention pain of arthritis, and concusion. Awhile ago I could smoke Marijuana and feel better not any longer,I get dizzy, and fainted. I really believe all this is brought on by stress, I have not been able to exercise for 3 months and gained 20 lbs.I will be moving shortly I believe this will be the turn around. My advice get away from anyone who does not appreciate you. Walk...no run away...it is not that you don't care it is that they, will aggravate you and you will suffer the consequences.

This is late. But I also have these symptoms, im fifteen ^.^
I went to the doctor, and explained to me thay these are tachycardia spasms.
I usually take magnesium and omega 3 vitamins. They are really helpful, one of the causes of tachycardia are :
1 . dehydration
2. Not enough magnesium, potassium In your body
3. An excessive amount of calcium in your body.
My doctor recommended me to stay calm, because usually the spasm begin when you're angry or nervous. She actually gave me some weird calming syrup.
Anyways, stay away from any sport activity, but if you really want to run or do sports ^^ dont exagerate

Ask your doctor to fit you with a 7 day event monitor & get in to see a cardiology specialist - you may be experiencing clusters of early onset Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT attack for short).

I have had this issue for several years, and have even been operated on to fix the problem.

It can come in clusters of flutters that last for a short time and then stop, which can happen frequently and within the space of a few hours (one morning I had about 10 episodes within 3 hours, was super uncomfortable).

It can also set your heart beat off at a very high speed for several minutes at a time without stopping, which you need to seek emergency medical care to slow your heart rate back to normal.

Try to catch it before it gets bad, I ignored the warning signs in the form of the off and on flutters for 4 years and ended up getting emergency heart surgery...

If your doctor tells you that you are fine and they can't see anything, search up some cardiology clinics and ask for a direct referral to a clinic or hospital near you. Often they will bulk bill you as well so that you don't have out of pocket costs. They see and hear of this thing often and will believe you when you tell them what's going on.

I hope this helps!! I wish I knew what was going on when I first started to go through it...

I'm a 27 year old female, healthy weight, a runner, 58 BPM resting heart rate, but a year ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and in the last 6 months I've started having the symptoms you describe. Feels like a dying fish flopping in my chest, shortness of breath , coughing, more common when I'm laying down, etc.,. but I'll tell you this - I have a history of GAD and panic attacks, and this doesn't feel anything like that. There shouldn't be coughing. The heart rate should increase steadily, and yes it should beat harder, but it shouldn't happen out of the blue when you're not stressed, and the flopping doesn't seem normal. I'm going to the doctor Friday to find out what's going on. If your doctor doesn't have you convinced, I suggest seeing someone else and pushing for them to send you home with a heart rate monitor for a few weeks (long enough to catch it). Heart disease happens. Better safe than sorry.

nnEMF was the cause in me. Clean up your electromagnetics in your environment, and it can be a huge fix.

Two things I have found that helps with this problem is to be careful about sleeping habits... make sure you are in bed no later than midnight, and make sure you stay in bed no more than 8 hours. The second is to stay away from alcohol... even one drink can be too many. Also, if you are under continual stress, do something about it... at the very least, find a distracting activity that directs your thinking away from what stresses you. Even something like spending time solving sudoku puzzles for half an hour each day can be the equivalent of meditating and can be surprisingly helpful.
