I have been having heart palpitations the last week or so. I've gotten these in the past but they normally don't last all day every day. I had an EKG in December and hernia surgery in January. (I assume my heart would have been monitored during surgery. ) I had an echo about two years ago. About twenty years ago I wore a holter monitor. Al tests said my heart was fine I do drink caffeine and have tried cutting back. This hasn't helped. I am prone to anxiety. I'm just worried about why they are happening so frequently. Should I go see my doctor?

Hi Aw,
Are you experiencing any undue anxiety lately?
Since it's been a week, contact your doctor. They know your history and can best give you an answer. I don't think an EKG would be out of line at this point.
Hope it helps.

I wouldn't say I'm having any more anxiety than normal, but I've been really worried about the palpitations.
