Heavy feeling in head and body

Hey everyone, for the past week I have been experiencing the worst feeling ever. My whole body is heavy. It is like my arms and legs weigh 100 lbs. My muscles are tight and sometimes achy all over my body, especially my hands, arms, and legs. I have also been having alot of pressure in my head, specifically in the front part of my head. The only thing that helps me feel better is laying down or sleeping. I feel somewhat normal for about 30 minutes after I wake up, but then it all starts again. I feel fairly normal if I am laying down, but as soon as I get up for a few minutes it all starts again.

I was on Zoloft for about 3 months, but stopped taking it about a month ago. For the first week or so after stopping it (abruptly), I felt the electric zaps that many people report after stopping Zoloft. But those went away after a couple weeks. I don't see how this could be withdrawal from Zoloft ater a month of stopping. I was also on Xanax, but stopped taking it (abruptly) about 2 1/2 weeks ago.

Any ideas as to what might be going on?

My daughter is going through the same type of thing - we think she may have celiac disease - typically you have abdominal problems, but the more I read about it I see this definately does not have to be the case - I wuld definately read about it and get checked if I were you.

I had depression alot throughout the years. I am now on a product of four herbs that has given me restful sleep and mental
clarity. I am not reacting to situation as I once did. I have not felt this good since menopause. Please reply me if you would like some information. JM

yes I would like more info. on this. I suffer from the same thing heavy and pressure sensation in the head. I was once on zoloft but got off it and resulted to holistic healing which I am finding out some things that were an issue with me.

I've been feeling the same. Only a few times has my whole body felt heavy, but most of the time it's the back of my head that feels heavy. It almost feels like something is pulling down the back of my head and sometimes that I might even fall if I don't focus on staying standing.

I don't take anything, but I have been having trouble sleeping. I go to sleep very late and wake up very late. Could that be the cause?

i KNOW THIS POST IS SEVERAL WEEKS OLD, BUT FELT A NEED TO REPLY. I TOO SUFFER FROM THE "HEAVY" FEELING. i STAND FROM A LYING OR SITTING POSITION, AND UPON RISING THE HEAVY SENSATION STARTS IN MY FEET AND MOVES UP THROUGH MY BODY TO MY HEAD. I DESCRIBE THE FEELING AS THE SAME AS GETTING OUT OF THE POOL AFTER BEING IN FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. BUT ALONG WITH THE "HEAVINESS", I FEEL LIKE GRAVITY IS ALL OF A SUDDEN PULLING ME DOWN. I AM AFRAID THAT I WILL FALL TO THE FLOOR ONE OF THESE TIMES. LUCKILY, I JUST FOUND OUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO WHAT IS CAUSING THIS SENSATION IN ME. AFTER 15 YEARS OF COPING WITH FIBROMYLAGIA THAT HAS CONTINUALLY GOTTEN WORSE, I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH"ADDISON'S DISEASE"/ ADDISON'S IS AN ADRENAL INSUFFICIENCY MEANING THAT MY BODY NO LONGER PRODUCES CORTISOL. i HAVE TO TAKE HYDRACORTISONE SEVERAL TIMES A GAY TO REPLACE WHAT MY BODY DOESN'T MAKE AND WILL CONTINUE TO TAKE IT THE REMAINDER OF MY LIFE DUE TO MY ADRENAL GLANDS BASICALLY BEING DESTROYED. AND IT'S THE ADDISON'S THAT IS CAUSING THE "HEAVY" FEELING. IT IS A WEIRD AND BOTHERSOME SENSATION TO SAY THE LEAST. MY DR PRESCRIBED A MED (RELATED TO DRAMAMINE) FOR ME LAST WEEK BECAUSE I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT DIZZINESS TO THE POINT OF NEARLY PASSING OUT. THE NEW MED HAS STOPPED THE DIZZINESS, BUT NOT THE HEAVY FEELING. DON'T KNOW IF THEY CAN STOP IT, BUTIT'S GETTING WORSE.
