I have had a heavy blood clotted period for 2 months now. I went to the doctors and she just looked at me and told me that I did not have fibriods after I explained how large my blood clots were and how long and heavy my period was. She suggested that I take birth control pills to regulate my period but what if I decide to take them to regulate my period and the minute I stop taking the birth control pills I'm bleeding up a storm again? What do i do?

Doctor is right about the bc and lighter periods. As a teenager i suffered so bad every month with messy long periods and large clots. I would have to take off from school or work because i just couldn't function. I went on the pill. It was wonderful. My period lasted 3 days with a very light flow and no more clots. I even felt healthier. I would bleed so long before that i was actually pale in the face and very tired. Try the pill. If it works for you that would be so much better that what you are going thru now. Try a low dose to start. Talk to your Doctor and see what he or she may want to start you out on.
