I am 50 years old and in January began waking up with a horrible twisting/cramp in my inner left thigh. It is not a regular cramp, you can not stand on it to help it, nor massage it out. I have had them bad enough twice that I have passed out in front of my husband from it. I get light headed, sweat profusely and have now passed out twice. My thigh will be so sore and feel so bruised after for a couple of days. I do work out on the treadmill and stretch first and cool down after. There is no rhyme or reason as to when they may occur. I have quanine "leg cramp" tablets that seem to help after a bit. I have tried magnesium and potassium. I have a banana/greek yogurt smoothy every morning for breakfast. I told the doctor about them but unless you either experience one, or see it happening you can't believe it isn't a usual cramp. My mother also gets them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have already injured my shoulder falling when I passed out the first time and do not want any more injuries. Unfortunately your first reaction is to jump out of bed and get weight on it (which again, does not help at all).
