Hello everybody,

I'm hoping to get some advice regarding pulmonary fibrosis and it's final stages, hopefully from someone who has some experience with this disease. I'm asking mainly because my husband has been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and we've already faced with the horrible perspective of this disease having no cure, but what still worries me from the experiences I've read is that there is no guarantee even on how far has the condition progressed.

So far all we can do is to go to checkups regularly, but for the last week or two my husband is needing more oxygen than usual even when still and coughing bouts seem to come more often than earlier and I'm extremely worried this is starting to look like final stages of pulmonary fibrosis. Our money options are becoming very limited, but if there are some way to find out what exactly is going on and how far the disease has progressed, please share them.

Hi Julian and Ann, Just yesterday November 7th  I was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.  I have no answers for you but hope you will let me know if you get some helpful information. How long has it been since your husband was diagnosed? I noticed shortness of breath about a year ago but so far no coughing or any major discomfort. I am 85 years old and up until the past six months I was the energizer bunny, now just making my bed leaves me short of breath. In about five months I will have another C scan and they can tell how fast this is progressing by comparing the scans. Please tell me your experience and how long your husband has hat it. Thank you and good luck.  Marilyn
