Hi. My hubby and I are trying to have a baby. I was prescribed with Clomid (1 tablet a day). I would like to hear more information about that drug. How does it work? What are the side effects of Clomid?

Hi. Clomid is the first fertility drug to be prescribed to couples trying to have a baby. Clomid reacts with the tissues in your body that have estrogen receptors, such as vagina, ovary, cervix… Clomid interfere with the way that GnRH, FSH, lH and estradiol relate. Clomid induces ovulation in 85% of women. However, only half of them will become pregnant. About 5% of them will have twin pregnancy, and triplet pregnancies are really rare. Some other side effects are ovarian enlargement, pelvic and breast discomfort, bloating, vomiting, headache, uterine bleeding.
