Dear Dr, 

It seems, after 1 or 2 stones, came from Gallbladder into the bile duct, they performed ERCP and inserted STENT in my Bile duct . 

Later, they advised me to go for surgery to remove Gallbladder . 

Now, i wanted to know, how long the inserted stent can be kept at Bile Duct ? 

Is it so required that after surgery only, should i go for removal ? 

Pl help me by updating the above.
