I have been taking oxy, and ativan 2mo now. I have been on hydro since 1987 off and on but more on than off. Now I have stopped the oxy and ativan cold turkey and have not been on the hydro for 1mo now. I left a path of distruction OMG. I recked my life with everyone else. But now I have been off the drugs for 3 days. What are the withdrawal rememadies. The sleeplessness, diahrea, unable to eat. How long will these symptoms last? Please help. Thanks.

I know how you feel, i watched my daughter go thru the same thing. Just be strong for yourself. Sleep, sleep and more sleep. You have to go thru hell before you can get to heaven. Drink a ton of water and keep hydrated. It's normal to loose your appetite but you must drink. Try some Kaopectate for the run's. Try to eat a little something, maybe toast or cracker's or make some rice and applesauce.

It's gonna take some time but you will come out on the other side as good as new.

I feel for you man, in short I had a herniated disk in my back and soon escalated to being addicted to oxycontin, fentanyl, perco, and sometimes even heroin. For starter's "bbfeet" is right drink much water as possible. I found that an OTC available at any drug store Called IMMODIUM AD really helps!. It's actually an opiate, however, it does not cross the blood barrier of your brain causing euphoria, like pain meds do. It truly helped me with all the physical effects of withdrawal, it takes hours to notice so take it early or before bed. It's an anti-diharreal OTC so it covers that problem, and also made me hungry again!
I felt i had to comment on this because when I was going through withdrawal it felt like anywhere I looked online n sh*t was like "THERE IS NONE", or comments, "get on methadone" which is what i would get when i couldn't find any oxy or patches in my using days, so something that gets you high isn't the answer. I hate to make this so long, but i feel for any1 goin thru withdrawal of opiates.
I guess in short
-OTC anti-diharreal IMMODIUM AD
-WATER AND FOOD, which Immodium really helps with.
-Any Excercise really helps

More controversial, but gotta be honest what helped me through:
-sexual stimulation/sex (i dont think i gotta go any further, but it releases endorphins like exercise)
-marijuana- only if your problem is strictly opiates/benzo's. I mean it helps with every single w/d in my opinion and is not physically addicting.

Prolonged use of painkillers can lead to physical dependence. The body adapts to the presence of the substance and if you stop taking the medication abruptly, withdrawal symptoms occur.
