I am 48 my tubes were tied about 10 yrs ago, I have never missed a period until last month.

i am going thru the same thing and hav the same questions.  i am 43 and i had my tubes tied 20 years ago and just missed my period for may and now in june, well i am spotting like i am having one but i always hav really heavy cycles and i hav been having other symptoms so i took a preg test and it came back neg as well.  hope you can find some answers as well as i hav been trying too.

Even though Tubal Ligation isn't 100% effective at stopping pregnancy, I really do think you are in peri-menopause! And this will continue to happen till about 60! YEAH!!!!!!  xp That's why I say that God IS a man - MENopause, MENstruation, MENtal Illness! Check into natural herbs for this - I went on one from my local pharmacy and it was FANTASTIC, it needs to have Red Clover in it! There are SO many of them! Also make sure you don't take too much stimulants - coffee, soda, lack of sleep etc. As we in "The Golden Years" can get heart palpitations - all from hormones, and stress's! Which is VERY concerning when it starts happening! I Just LOVE being a woman!!!! LOL Good luck and hopefully it's an easy transition for you!

 i hope it is pre menopause.  it would make me feel better.  i have been worrying that i may have a tubal preg and i know that can be dangerous.  i am trying to find a doctor cause i had to stop using my other one because of my insurance had changed at work and they didnt take it.  my visit last year was find and they ran all types of test.  i found some that i hav to call monday and see if i can get in and get a check up, but was just scared if i needed to go to the er.  thanks for some info but i will still be on the look out if anything gets worse i will go to the er. 

The main thing to look for is IF you have terrible pain and swelling where your tubes are - this could be then a etopic pregnancy! Also IF you took a pregnancy test then it would show positive! No insult intended with what I'm about to say - but at 48 I would doubt VERY much that this is a pregnancy, just keep an eye out for infection or pain! IF there is you go to the emergency immediately!

most people say its not normal to miss a period, but it really is normal. if your tubes are tied, you've got nothing to worry about, sweetheart.
