Last friday I had my colonoscopy and endoscopy. (all I can say is god bless anesthetic, I was totally out) They couldn't tell me much afterwards except that I am a bit inflamed. *sigh*.. awaiting some test results.
anyways, just wanted to drop by and say I haven't forgotten about this thread and will let you know what happens.

Hi Cioness
Thanks for updating us. Yep, a general anaesthetic would have made that procedure much more comfortable.
Looking forward to hearing your results - remember to get a copy of the technician's report for yourself.
Regards, Olwen :-)

Bah. All I got was "eat more fiber". It took forever to get my doctor to get the results from the hospital in order to get them as a printout. But there's really not much there. Turns out they didn't test my stool sample for parasites though.
I got a repeat blood test to see if those eosinophils were still up. I specifically asked for that test. Got the results back and guess what? My doc didn't have that test done.
I told him that it's really driving me nuts, that my stomach is so bloated I can feel heart palpitations in my belly. He said "that's just your body"
yes, thank you, doc, I know that the heart beats and stuff. But this is not right. Nobody will even acknowledge that there might be something amiss here. Sure I may be barking up the wrong tree with the blood test but it's just because I don't know what else to do.
I'm slowly going f***ing nuts with this. It's been 8 months. If another doctor tells me to eat more fiber or drink more fluids, I think I may have to strangle them.
Well anyways, I will let you know WHEN NOT IF I get this figured out, whenever that may be.

woah, negative ratings much?
right. I got my eosinophils tested again. normal. also, I have iron anemia which is not really explained by my diet (I eat a lot of meat. white, red and fish, about in that order, and I eat them with lots of veggies so the heme-iron from the meat should help me absorb the non-heme iron in the greens) or my periods which are pretty short and light.
and before you rant about red meat being better- the right cuts of poultry meat are pretty rich in heme-iron too.
I went to two different doctors since my last post. One when I was traveling (she didn't believe that I was constipated, but she did ultrasound my abdomen and said there might be something weird about my left kidney and I should have it checked - probably nothing)
And the other doctor is a local one at home. I think I might switch to him, he's much more approachable than my regular GP. So, new doc reluctantly sent me for a CT today.
if you like you can view it here:
I don't know what it means yet, the people at the clinic just do the scan and send it to the GP who referred you so I have yet to get the verdict.
I know this isn't very helpful as of yet, but I promise I will update this thread when I figure this out so that other people can *eventually* get something from it.

Have you been tested for diabetes? It quite often goes hand in hand with the hypoT as well as other autoimmune disorders such as coeliac. The yeast infection is what made me wonder thats all. The constipation, tiredness, weightloss and feeling like c**p are all sypmtoms of high sugar levels. It may be worth getting it checked out if only to rule it out.

*siiiigh* Well, here I am. And I'm afraid I'm still not wiser. It has gotten a lot better (or maybe I've just gotten used to it..) than it was, but it still pops up here and there. Only now I sometimes have mild diarrhea as well. Yay. Also, negative for diabetes and allergies. :/ I'm sorta not in the best health insurance situation right now so I had to put it on hold. URGH. anyway- I swear If I ever find out what the eff this is I will come back here...
