Hi there, my name is Jolene and I was diagnosed with hypythyroid in november 2007. My thyroid shut my body completely down, and the day we found out what was wrong I had major symptoms of a heart attack. I am still have sharp pains in my chest and I am not sure if they are heart burn or not. When it happens it makes me quite weak and I get extreme body temp. changes. I am exhausted all the time, I was put on a stimulant from my doc, and he said my levels were fine and my tiredness was caused by my schedule. I agreed that I was working screwed up shifts but the way I was feeling did not make sense. I was doing ok on the stimulants but I had side affects that were a little alarming so he took me off them and was going to prescibe me an anti-depressant but I know from previous issues I am not depressed and not moody I am tired and can't get moving. I told him no and that I would prefer not to go on them, he got upset and pretty much wouldn't help me. What I need to know and why I explained all this is that I want to know if I need to have another doc check out my levels or can I find a vitamin that could help.

Jolene, it sounds very much like you need to see another doctor. I don't think that it sounds like your doctor is providing you very good care so it is a good idea for you to at least seek out a second opinion. It seems to me like you were not getting very good service. Please keep us posted on what your new doctor decides. Thanks!
