Hi, well I'm 16, i got my period two years ago so it cant be completely blocked...
but i have tried using a tampon a number of times and simply cannot get it in, like at all.
It's like it hits a wall, I've tried with my little finger to the same effect. It gets to say 1cm in and stops and if i push more it hurts and feels really weird and just doesn't go anywhere..
I've also sat on my bed with a little hand help mirror and had a look and i can see the general opening between the lips etc and what appears to be the vaginal opening but there is what seems to be this circular 'thing' about a cm in blocking it??
So i can't seem to penetrate my vagina..??

I am confused and worried.
I know generally about the hymen but not entirely sure where it is and if this is it, i didn't think the hymen stopped everything from penetrating?

Any ideas, not sure if that makes any sense...

im no expert but i would say it is the hymen because it hurts you might have a larger one than usual however if its 1cm (which will suck for your first time)

look up vaginismus... its not a disease, just a reflex, just like you're instinct would cause you to close your eyelids if someone was about to poke your eyes, the same things happens to the vagina sometimes, involuntary muscles are trying to keep things out of there.

It sounds like you have a small hymen opening. I have the same condition. I'm 17 but I can't get even a slim tampon or my little finger in. I have been told it will eventually stretch or break.

A Dr. can make a small cut in it with a local anesthetic to open it up, but I didn't want that.
