I had my third baby on September 17th 2021. I got the epidural with all 3 of my pregnancies. This time when the anesthesiologist was giving it to me it was only going to my right side. He then got it to the left side, but only did a little bit. Now I get a numbness on the right side if I sit or stand for a while in an or I stay in an uncomfortable position. Also, when I cough I feel the exact spot the epidural was. Like a pressure feeling. No pain, but this is the first time this has ever happened.

It's not uncommon for women to experience some temporary side effects or sensations after receiving an epidural during childbirth. Most of these side effects resolve on their own within a few days or weeks.
Numbness or altered sensation on one side of the body, such as the right side in your case, can sometimes occur due to the distribution of the local anesthetic during the epidural procedure. The medication may affect nerve roots differently, leading to variations in sensation. In most cases, this numbness should resolve gradually as the effects of the epidural wear off. However, if you continue to experience persistent or worsening numbness, it's essential to bring it to the attention of your doctor.
The sensation you describe when coughing in the area where the epidural was administered could potentially be related to the residual effects of the procedure. It's possible that the epidural needle or catheter irritated the surrounding tissues, leading to sensitivity or discomfort when pressure is applied, such as during coughing.
