I am 17 and I had Sex without a condom, 2 weeks into my first month of birthcontrol. I guess i'm asking about when birth control starts working and if it is effective right when you start taking it.
I think I might be pregnant, although he did not ejaculate and we stopped because we felt guilty after about a minute. But I have to urinate a lot, certain foods I crave or they make me sick, And I've been worried for about 2 and a half weeks now, someone please help. Am I pregnant?

birth control doesn't take effect until about a month after you start taking it. but, if he didn't ejaculate, then i don't think you're pregnant. have you had a period yet? if you've missed a period than you need to take a pregnancy test. if you're not pregnant, your birthcontrol could be effecting your period.

It's recommended to use a back up for the first 7-14 days after starting or changing methods. With no ejaculation I wouldn't worry much. Your symptoms are quite likely side effects from the pill. It takes your body a few weeks to even out. Remember though, when in doubt either use a back up method like condoms or spermicide or don't risk it at all. Having a back up on hand will ensure you're never caught unprepared and unsafe.
