You may be suffering from Alopecia. Alopecia is an abnormal loss of hair either for men or women. The first thing you should do is check with your doctor as you may have an imbalance of some sort, could be a vitamin deficiency or un unknown health issue.
Hair loss can be hereditary or premature. Stress can cause it and so can certain medications.
If you still have some growth back there, you may want to try Rogaine for Women. If the spot is totally bald, it won't work, but if there is still some, i hate to pertain to it as "fuzz, it could work. Rogaine will not work if there is no growth at all, meaning smooth and shiney.
In the meantime, avoid tight hair appliances such as scrunchies, barretts and pony tail bands. See a styling specialist who may be familiar with giving you a flattering style that may conceal your problem. If the Rogaine works, you have to use it all the time and once you discontinue, the balding will return.
Keep a short hair style as longer hair will weigh itself down making the problem more noticeable. Try not sleep on your back.
