I don't know where everyone is from but I live in NY and I know for a fact that Suboxone can come up with a urine drug screen if it is used properly with the appropriate dose that people should be taking (according to the amount of opiates that were being used) I stopped taking Oxycodone about 6 months ago after I had a nerve block in my back and I was started on Suboxone. In the 3 months that I was taking Suboxone (at first it was 2 8mg strips, then dropped 1 a month) and I came up positive for Opiods everytime I was being urine screened at my doctors office when I would go for my Suboxone refill. And, I don't use drugs recreationally. I will tell anyone who does use these medications recreationally that it is VERY dangerous, I have had many friends die from overdosing; and witnessed people who have never had a drug or alcohol problem lose their entire lives (including those who were successful, doctors, lawyers, and nurses) to these medications. I know that it is hard, especially if you have any kind of pain (both physical and psychological trauma) but I will tell you this; I took Roxicodone 30mg EVERYDAY sometimes 10 times a day because I had a back condition, I thought that I could not function properly without them. I have been off of them for 6 months, and I feel fantastic. I don't want to sound too cliche, or even as if I am trying to preach to those who are still having a battle with them.. I am only trying to give some advice from someone who has been through it, I am not a dr. telling you this bc I need to, I am just a normal person who is telling you because I think there are so many people who feel the way I did (like I couldnt go on without them) I am a nursing student, I have two young and beautiful children, and a great family.. ANYONE who wants to can do this.. After the first 2 or 3 weeks, I felt so much better. I had to change up my routines a little bit, because everything I did, involved a pill...It wasnt easy and to be completely honest, the psychological part of parting with it was harder then the physical aspect; but once someone makes the decision to stop and sticks to it... you will feel so much better, both about yourself, and everything else. Also, Yes, Suboxone does have some withdrawl symptoms when you stop taking it, but it is NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING, not even CLOSE to what opiate withdrawl is. My eyes teared a little bit and I yawned once every hour.. thats it and I think it may have lasted 1 day and it was over... I advise anyone to seek help in stopping taking these meds.. too many people have died, these pills don't discriminate, they dont care if you are a mother, how much money you have, or about anything else in your life.. they can take everything away from you.. If anyone would like help, they are more then welcome to reply to me and I will help you.. I didn't have too many people around me who had experience stopping, and I wish I did have someone I could talk to that understood what I was feeling and how hard it can be sometimes... Im here for anyone that is serious about stopping and needs some strength.. Best of luck to everyone.
while i agree with just about everything you've said here...i don't want people thinking suboxone withdrawls could be that easy...I was prescrbed suboxone for about a year and I was put in a position to where i had to quit cold turkey...I withdrew BAD for almost 2 whole months. I ate a cracker every other day and the ambulance would have to come to my house at least once a week. I even had a seizure during this time (and i've never had a seizure in my life). My whole family thought i was going to die! That was years ago and I will NEVER go back down that road...I just think that people withdrawl differently...like for me, I was on Methadone before I switched to suboxone and yes the withdrawls from Methadone where terrible, but for me Suboxone was MUCH worse!! Just depends on the person I guess.
This is from a board certified Dr in charge of detox at a large Rehab facility in NJ. Suboxone has to be specifically tested for, it will not come up on any of the common opiate panel tests. However,he did tellme he has colleagues that believe it is possible for the subutex to come through on the intial possitive/negative urine screen but when sent for Gas spectromology(sp?) it will not idntify. THis he claims is very rare and he hasn't seen it but has been told about it. He is unsure if he believes it.Labs make mistakes, Drs vsn mislead - I don't doubt your experience but not everything is alwas as it appears. BTW I have been on suboxone for 3 years and take a 10 panel urine screen 4 times a year and never came up positive

first off the c**p about failing a drug test for amphetamines is false because it is not in that drug class, however it is an opioid antagonist wich means it fills the brains spot like opiates do but you wont get the euphoria, they say its a key that fits the lock but wont open the pleasure sensors.it will also cause a severe adverse reaction if taken while opiates are in your system=i have done this and its horrible!!! but yes you will test positive for opiates

Suboxone is usually a drug that holds its own individual test. The test for Suboxone/Buprenorphine is expensive and rare. I have been on Suboxone for six months, clean from all other opiates. WHen I take my urinalysis at the doctor, which tests for Suboxone with other drugs, it shows that I have only been taking Suboxone as prescribed. However, when I take the at home urinalysis drug testswhich do not test for Suboxone (pee in a cup, tilt the cup, and wait for the little purple lines to appear) Methadone and OXY are often reluctant to show a line suggesting they are not in my system. I have never taken Methadone and have been clean from OXY for about six months. Thus, I believe these cheap at home drug tests will give a false positive of OXY and Methadone when you have taken Suboxone. It will not make you fail for amphetamines. If you are legitimately prescribed Suboxone, let the tester know and advise them to get a test with Suboxone so that you won't have any issues.

i know this is a lil late but i am on suboxone and have been for years...if they test for buprenoriphene which is the name for suboxone then yes it will show up. it will not under any circumstance show up as an opiate. i was on drug court for 2 years and never had a problem. however, it caused my husband to fail for phenobarbitol...at least we think it did. but the test they did on him wasn't a test that tested for suboxone. it tested for everything but that. usually drug tests don't specifically test for phenobarbitol but this one did. phenobarbitol is some kind of med they gave us for withdrawals while detoxing from methadone. the funny thing is phenobarbitol is a form of benzo from what i was told and the suboxone caused him to test positive for that, but not benzos. weird. very weird. so if anyone can explain that to me that would be nice.

I have been taking Suboxone for a year now and I have taken it before. This time around I am in CPS with my children, and my children were removed from the home, I am doing everything to get them back so I have to drug test twice a week, I know for a fact that you DO NOT (ABSOLUTELY DO NOT) drop dirty for opiates, I get a weekly report back on my clean drops and I have ONLY taken Suboxone, nothing else, and my drugs screens always come back clean. They also test me once a week at my Suboxone clinic I go to for my medication. They test for any street drug, opiates, cocaine etc... I NEVER drop dirty for ANYTHING including OPIATES. See what Suboxone is, is a SYNTHETIC OPIATE, it's not a real opiate, so it will NEVER SHOW UP as an opiate in a drug test. It doesn't show up at all, it's just like SPICE, it is a SYNTHETIC type of THC. You NEVER test positive for SPICE either. Every single person on this site that is telling you that you WILL tested positive for opiates if you are taking Suboxone...THEY ARE ALLL WRONG!!! DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. I have been drug testing for a year and all of my test come out as CLEAN DROPS!! The people that are saying they tested positive for opiates 15days or less after they stopped using pills, while they were on Suboxone ONLY tested positive because it takes 2 weeks or more for the actual opiates to get out of your system, especially if you have taken a lot of pills!! MY WHOLE POINT IS, LISTEN TO ME I HAVE BEEN TESTING CLEAN FOR OVER A YEAR AND I HAVE BEEN ON SUBOXONE FOR THAT LONG, AND NOT ONCE HAVE I TESTED DIRTY!!! SO PLEASE DON'T WORRY, UNLESS YOU ARE STILL TAKING ACTUAL OPIATES THEN YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!!! :) :) HOPE THIS HELPED YOU!! YOU WON'T NEED ANY LUCK IF YOU ARE STAYING CLEAN!! :) :)

WOW! it was real easy for me to come down to1/4 of an 8mg. in morn. and 1/4 of an 8mg. in the afternoon .Some minor discomfort only, but no withdrawl. A slow but sure tapering off would be the best course of action. A.A. or N.A.can't hurt either.Good luck.
