It's comforting to know someone else knows what I'm talking about! I don't smell any odors or smoke, but it definitely FEELS like smoke! It happens most in my house too! But I have noticed it in other closed in places. Never outdoors. The more the dry air runs, the worse it gets. I have Lupus and am wondering if it could be a lung problem from that. I get to a point sometimes of wanting to scream and run outside! :(

How’d you rid your house of the mold? I don’t see any. Thanks.

I also smell smoke a lot throughout the day. I am in my mid 40s. I also have a hard time breathing but my oxygen levels are fine. Doctor checked my heart that seems okay. Sent for an xray and blood work. I am waiting on those results.
I could see where it could be sinus infection. Or an over all body infection like a fungal or yeast. Causing the sense of smell to be bad. I am going to talk more with my doctor about this.

I just started smelling smoke,it’s as if I just walked into a smoke filled bar. It is hard to breathe and I find myself gasping for air at times. At night it smells like something is burning so I run to the kitchen to check if the stove or oven was left on. I went to the store and I could smell smoke in my car. Nobody in my family smokes. I don’t smell it all of the time it comes and goes. But it just started April 2 2018. It’s been 5 days now.

Hi, I had the same problem and one day my husband said, "smell the peanut butter, it smells like cigarette smoke". Up until that time, I was eating TONS of peanut butter, including straight from the jar! When I stopped eating peanut butter, no more smelling the cigarette smoke! Just before we made this connection I was going to schedule an appointment with a neurologist because of some of the things I read that could have caused this strange sensation.

It is part of the menapause... Yes another symptom. It must be something to do with hoe R ones. I had it when I was pregnant for 9 months then nothing for years. Now at 52 I have this strong smoky smell 4 days a month. I suppose we just have to live with it. It might go but at least you know it is nothing serious.

I’ve smelled smoke for years! I do not routinely take any meds. However, the smell is worse IF I am taking meds for any type of med for any time period & when stressed. I have learned to ignore it & move on with my life. Glad to know I’m not imagining it!

I started smelling smoke on and off the past 2-3 weeks, but lately it is all the time. I have been taking meds for acid reflux for quite some time. After reading so many of the posts, I am hoping that is the problem. Will be seeing my doctor the first of the week. I will post whenever I know more. Wish people would let us know once they find a cure and the reason for the problem. So frustrating to hear from so many people with the same problem, but not hearing from them when it is gone. Today I felt weak for about an hour or and now I have a headache. I am sure it is all related.
