I have some of the symptoms, so I think it might be it. I'm 13 years old and I'm not sure what to do. I havn't told me mom because I don't know how to go about it. What to say. I've never really told her that much. I know I have to tell her. I have a brownish discharge too and the skin around the lips is very raw and it hurts when I pee.

what should I do?

Shona, i was in the exact same position as you until yesterday. You really must tell your mum cos you will need to visit a doctor. You don't have to worry about it, she may have had one at some point in her life, it does affect 1 in 50 women. As you are very young the doctor may not see you without a parent - its not embarassing at all, doctors are trained to deal with this stuff - your private area proably won't be the first she's seen! If possilbe, get a female doctor, it will make you feel more comfortable.

In the meantime, soak in hot baths 3-4 times a day for about 20 mins. This helps to relieve the symptoms, and may even rupture it, as it did with mine. As soon as all the infection is out (in a puss - like form) the relief is immediate.

I hope you get well soon.
