Hi. I`m a vegetarian and I want to raise my children as vegetarians too. Is it healthy and safe for them? I feel no need to eat meat. The last time I had meat for lunch I was 15 years old. Now I am 30 years old and I am perfectly healthy. What do you think?

Hi. I think everybody has a right to choose. I think you should let your children eat the meat and later than can choose whether they will be vegetarians or not. I am not a vegetarian myself, but my husband is. Our children eat whatever they want to. My daughter prefers chicken and fish. My son hates chicken but he likes beef. They like veggies too, especially carrot and potato. Mash potato is their favorite. You made your choice, let your children choose for themselves.

It's a healthy way to raise children and I think it's a great idea. Perhaps talk to your doctor make sure that their diet is full of everything they need, but don't worry too much. At very least you'll be a step above the parents who's kids will only eat chicken nuggets. Good luck!
