Hi, my names katie and I've just turned 18 last month. I was diagnosed with pcos 2 1/2 years ago and have been having stomach cramps for about the past 6 months or so. For the last 6-8 weeks the pains have been specific to my left side abdomen and have been so strong that I've been doubled over on the floor in pain. It felt like someone was stabbing me repeatedly. I went to the doctor on Friday (4 days ago) who prescribed me mefanoic acid tablets that take the edge off the pain but its still there. It was so bad yesterday that half way through my a-level exam (I'm in uk) I collapsed and had to be taken out of the exam and couldn't finish the paper. Through a stroke of luck we managed to speak to the head of gynaecology at my local hospital this afternnon who said that pcos cannot be the cause of it. He has booked me in for a doctors appt on Friday and a scan next week. Do you think it could be ovarian cancer? If not what else could it be? I'm really scared! Thanks in advance x
