It was 90 degrees outside; I was working on a hillside, putting out pine straw. After only about 30 minutes of work, I realized I was panting, soaked through, deep breaths were not giving me enough "air." Heart was beating really hard and fast.
I have mild hypertension, under treatment, but that treatment changed 2 days ago. I am somewhat overweight but otherwise (I thought) in good health. I'm 60, 25 pounds overweight. I was ill 3-4 days ago with dizziness, fever, nausea, but have associated those with the medicine I was coming off of. Today, no symptoms that could be ascribed to heart attack: no pain anywhere, no tightness, no squeezing.
Am I over-reacting, or is something seriously wrong?

Your symptoms resemble those for heat stroke. I wouldn't have put myself through any strenuous physical labor at 90F if I were in your physical condition. You need to take it easy when it is hot outside.
