I use a Polar pulse watch to measure heart rate & distance.
On Polar's website it is possible to set up training plans and I have done this for my next half marathon.
I noticed that on the day before the half marathon there is a training session scheduled:
Distance 8 km / 5,0 mi. Sport zones 1-2 (50-70%). Optional drills - repeat 3 times: 1 min in sport zone 3-4 (70-90%), 1 min recovery. Replenish your energies, no extra training!
Questions
Q1. Is it wise to run 8km the day before a 21.1km run?
I have found many running websites where they recommend that one does not run the day before the event.
Q2. Does anyone have any experience following the standard plan half marathon plan?
Best regards
Jason
