I'm prescribed to Adderall IR 5mg which I take twice daily. I've been on this dosage for about four months now.
I know everyone's body is different and reacts differently to different medications but overall how long does it take before your body gets used to having the Adderall in your blood stream?
About how many months after starting should you normally be able to tell if the Adderall is working correctly?
Like I mentioned above I've already been taking the same amount for about four months now (5mg Twice daily) and at first it was controlling my ADD symptoms pretty effectively but around the middle of the 2nd month I noticed that it felt like it wasn't working as well as it had the month before.
I'm not sure if this is how Adderall is supposed to work, maybe it feels different once it gets into your bloodstream and you start to get used to it, but since it seems to have stopped working as well for the past 2 and a half months as it did in the first month and a half should I talk to my doctor about changing the dosage strength or is this just how the medicine is supposed to work?
Any suggestions as to what may have happened in the middle of the 2nd month to change the effect, or any suggestions about how I should expect the Adderall to change over time and if I should speak to my doctor about this change would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks In Advance!

Here are a few things that I forgot to point out that will hopefully give you a bit more insight.
I'm scared that I'll be too pushy or seem rude when that's not my intention at all.
Here's how the first part of our conversation:
Doctor: How are you doing thus far on your Adderall?
Me: The Adderall is still helping me a little bit but it's not helping as much as I thought it would.
After I say that he just jumps right on to another question and he asks me, "Other than that how are you feeling?" and like most other times, I tell him "I'm feeling okay."
It's so frustrating when something like this happens because I know my body and I know when something isn't working near as well as it should!
Am I doing something wrong?
If so, please tell me what it is that I'm doing wrong and what I should do instead because I really have no idea of how to make him listen and take notice of what I'm saying to him.
Once Again,
Thanks For Taking The Time!
