Its NEVER a "Good" time to have intercouse without contraception if you don't want a pregnancy because you never know if something will cause you to ovulate early or late. Its just not worth the risk.
HOWEVER, if it wouldn't be the end of the world if you ended up pregnant (for instance, it wouldn't be for me because I am married and we DO want another child and even though we would like to wait a little while we would still be happy if it happend-so I used this method- and my cycles are regular and have been for over 10 years)
You count 9 days from the first day of your last period. Days 9-17th DO NOT have intercourse without a condom (its really days 12-16 but since sperm can live for a few days you want to give a few days leway to me "safe") And this is ONLY if your cycle is always 28 days....This method is really really risky and best if you combine it with ovulation charting (bbt and cervical mucous) PLUS like I said you have to be ok with still possiably having a baby AND be absolutely SURE your partner does not possiably have any STDs (can you REALLY truly be sure??) Good luck - and like I said...this method is NOT recommended..
