Is this normal for a broken hymen, or could it be a messed up period?

I've even fingered before, and I bled once already so I assumed my human broke. I've never had sex. My bf and I just started being intimate with each other and he fingered me for our first time the other day, he used three fingers in me which hurt but I was okay with it, I finally came and he noticed blood. It bled a little then stopped, and I masturbated this morning, and now it's bleeding like a period. Is this normal for a broken hyem, or could it be a messed up period?
