I'm a 50 year old guy and have been viewing porn quite a bit since my late teens (and after the Net became easily accessible in my 20s/30s). The exception was when I was into new relationships, and my partner wanted sex more than me...
Very often, a couple's sex drive will be mismatched. Sometimes a guy is too tired to "do all the work", and just needs some instant release... At times like these, porn comes to the rescue.
In addition, I did learn a lot from watching porn. Things like what all one can do in bed. What is "normal" in a sexual relationship. How to please your woman partner, and so on. WIthout porn, I would have never learnt this....
In brief, I don't use porn *instead* of my partner, but in addition to her.
Women sometimes imagine that we're fantasizing about one particular woman in porn, or would like to be in bed with her. Far from it. We as men are just so visually-aroused creatures, that any fairly good looking (or even average) woman could get us off. And it's all about this. The relief from getting off.
Fortunately, my partner has no problem with me watching porn. She'll often recommend it when she's not in the mood....
(Which can be often. In my experience, women tend to tire of a guy in 2-3 years of a new relationship, but guys tend to need a steady supply of sex. There are exceptions, of course...)
