I was diagnosed with bilateral calcaneo-navicular tarsal coalition when I was 16 years of age in 2003. Since then I have had reduction surgery on my right foot twice. The last time was in October of 2006 to take out bone fragments, but has got worse :'( . Durring my most recent visit my doctor stated that because that boney bar was removed it caused a joint to be there that was already supposed to be there, but it was causing stress for the calcaneus-cuboid joint. I am now recogmended to have fusion surgery on that joint in September. I am wondering thou, I also have tight tendons running from my ankle to my foot that are really sore, will this help them out. Also I was wondering what can I do for the pain until then? I already have Vicoden that I am taking about three times a week to help me sleep and 800mg of Ibprophen. Braces don't work. Any answers will be welcome.

Stumbled upon your post. almost a year since you posted. How are you doing? How was your surgery? I too have the same coalition...since Dec. 2007.....still on crutches, painful, can't sleep at nite, go to Dr. again in 4 weeks.....he mentioned surgery.....but so constantly painful not sure I can wait. Got any suggestions?....tips? At first I was scared at thought of surgery, but now I would welcome anything to relieve the pain. Thank You in advance for your reply..... D.B.
