In the past week or so i've been itching my scalp a lot- more at night. it's really annoying. My legs itch more now, mostly at night, and around my stomach. From the itching, i think, i have some red bumps on my stomach area. it is keeping me up at night. It's like a tingling/burning sensation that won't go away. I am slowly recovering from a battle with bullimia (not sure if that matters or not). I don't smoke, i drink alcohol like wine or beer regularly (a couple glasses/beers close to every night). I might venture to say it's my detergent I am using?? I just don't know...could it be exzema or however you spell it? I dont know what's relative about the itching starting at nigth when i am ready to go to bed.
Please if anyone has any info to offer i would appreciate it.

My itching started March 10 2007 and is ongoing. Sometimes it is all over my body, other times in waves and localized. Taking antihistamines. I thought it might be food related but now I think it was due to birth control pills I started a week before and resultant hormonal swings in my body. I stopped 5 days ago and the worst symptom of hand pain stopped but the evening itching still persists, I'm waiting to see an allergist (apparently pollen counts are worse at night). I'm 40 and have never had any allergies before.

I have been experiencing exactly the same symptoms, starting also in early March. I went to my Doctor, he put me on reactine for 2 weeks to see if the problem would resolve itself. I am now on my second day off the antihistamines and itch symptoms are back. It usually starts in the evening, on my scalp, groin area, stomach, sometimes my shoulders and back. I was thinking it may be psycho-somatic but am glad to read of someone experiencing the same thing.
I am a 42 year old male, healthy, non-smoker, thin, fit (runner) in Alberta Canada. We have had a particularly early Spring with warm weather about a month ahead of usual; pollen??
Any advice, direction would be appreciated.
