Hi all. I have a very itchy rectum and on closer examination I have noticed that the skin around my anus is whitish in the itchy areas. Is there anybody here who could tell me what this might be and is there a way to treat this?? Is this something dangerous?? Please respond!

It sure looks like a fungal infection. It is nothing to worry about – it should be cleared up with a prescribed cream from your doctor. The only thing you should know is that sometimes this process can take some time – be sure to get proper treatment and also make sure that you continue to apply the cream even after itchiness has stopped – few more weeks at least!!!
