It can be normal but there is also a big chance that you have some kind of an infection, sexually transmitted or not. STDs often leave pimples, sores and other signs on skin around vaginal area and you should test regularly to prevent any of them happening. Also, common cause for this is vaginal infection like yeast infection. It causes itching redness or swelling of vaginal area and can be treated with over-the-counter yeast infection creams, but if you think there is a chance for this to be STD you should get tested.

I am the same. I do not have a yeast infection and it is only when I am turned on that I itch and it stops when I am sexually satisfied. I think it may be caused by an increase in blood flow to the area.

Is that what they mean when they say you have an itch that needs to be scratched?
