I am a male & now well into my late sixties & have experienced having had a leaky Bowel since I was a small child & having to visit the toilet regular up to at least six times per day to wipe myself clean & many time having being punished for staining my underware, but as the years passed I have learnt to live with this issue thinking I was the only person experiencing this, until today that is, I mentioned this issue to my GP just recently due to the fact it has started to get worse as I am now having to clean myself up to seven or eight timer per day but he did not comment on it, he just went h'm & changed the subject leaving me thinking he did not know what to say on the subject. Before writing this I did read certain comments regarding the possible causes of this issue, such as what we eat regarding fatty foods & the wrong type of todays eating habits, But I personally believe that to be all unfounded. "THE REAL FACTS". sixty odd years ago when I was experiencing this leaky bowel issue, the war had not long ended & food was very basic & still rationed, Living out in the country side we lived basically on stews mainly vegetable with the occasional rabbit, no such thing as processed food then nor fatty foods, So if some professor tries to tell me that it is down to what I put into my mouth, I will know different. My guess is that we are all born different & some of us with certain inperfections & in my case I believe I am one of those whom have been born with a perferated bowel, I may well be wrong, but it helps me to cope & get through life, although I did not have much of one because of all the side effects that came with it, but now, being elderly & not having to go anywhere socially it's become easier to live with & also I feel better in myself in finding out today that I am not alone with this issue, Thats helped a lot, it's made me feel less of a freek of nature.

A perforated bowel is one where there is a hole in the wall of the bowel allowing the contents to pass into the abdomen.
I m not a Doctor but you should return to your GP and insist that he sends you to hospital to be examined in the Gastroenterology Dept.

Hello Crazypeter, Thank you for your comment, I have only in the past week revealed this to my GP & after having kept this to myself for the past sixty odd years & it is somewhat difficult to progress further than I have already done, by that I mean with the GP not responding to it as if it nothing to be conserned about, However I know you have a valid point & I should take steps to persue it further especially with the issue I have with it becomming more frequent, so I will prepare myself to make that appointment soon.
