Hi so this is a pretty involved question so I couldn't really get an answer from just googling it. I went to visit my parents for the weekend and I left my birth control pills at home accidentally. I didn't realize I did so until AFTER I had sex on Friday night and they weren't in my overnight bag. My pills start on Monday weekly, but I obviously missed Friday and Saturday (will be home Sunday).

I have been spotting a lot lately (before I missed the pills) and my boyfriend has been encouraging me to just let my period happen. I have been skipping it intentionally by not taking the placebo pills and just moving onto the next pack. I do this regularly but this is the first time I've had an issue with spotting. I am on Yasmin, so all of the pills have the same amount of hormones in every pill. Since I have been taking them for longer than a month (more like 3 months), is it safe for me to just take my week-long break right now (starting Friday?) and then just resume taking the pills starting with the Friday one I missed starting next week? Or when I get home, should I take the pills I missed?

I am not sure what the dynamics of missing pills in the middle of a week are, especially not involving when I have been skipping periods anyway. I know for sure I am not pregnant at the moment (I took a pregnancy test just in case) but I am worried about the sex I had on Friday night possibly impregnating me because I missed pills in the middle of the week.

Please help! Should I take the pills I missed? Or is it safe for me to proceed with a week long break for my period without getting pregnant? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
