I suffer from hyperthyroidism. I recently started with levothyroxine as a supplement on my therapy and I have to admit that I am satisfied with results. My prescribed dose is 1.6mcg/kg daily. For what other conditions this drug is used as therapy?

Levothyroxine is used a replacement or supplement therapy in patients of any age or state with hypothyroidism, except transient hypothyroidism during the recovery; primary hypothyroidism resulting from thyroid dysfunction, primary atrophy, or partial or total absence of the thyroid gland, or from the effects of surgery, radiation or drugs, with or without the presence of goiter, including sub-clinical hypothyroidism; pituitary hypothyroidism; and hypothalamic hypothyroidism.
